Alexander Schwarz of Cornish Pirates appeared before an independent disciplinary panel and received a three-week ban.
Schwarz was cited by independent citing commissioner James Hudson following the Championship Cup match between Bedford Blues and Cornish Pirates on Saturday 8 December 2018 for stamping on an opponent, contrary to Law 9.12.
The player pleaded guilty to the charge and received a three-week ban. He is free to play again on 15 January 2019.
Panel chair David Lidbury commented: “The player accepted the charge and the panel determined that his actions were reckless rather than intentional.
“Due to the fact that contact was made with the head of the opposition player, the mandatory entry point of mid-range applied. However in light of his guilty plea, considerable remorse and a clean disciplinary record the panel decided that the sanction should be reduced by the full 50%.”
